DUSTCELL just announced this past week their first album called “SUMMIT” to be release on May 20th 2020!
DUSTCELL is a unit of 2 Japanese virtual singers, EMA (Vocalist) and Misumi (Composer), who debuted only few months ago in November 2019. They released several songs on Youtube with already hundreds thousands of views.
Virtual singers (and more generally virtual youtubers) are gaining in popularity these last years in Japan. To explain briefly, they are artists expressing themselves using a kind of persona, a character they are sticking with. In the same category we can find Kizuna Ai and Kaguya Luna…
DUSTCELL are mixing various styles in their songs, close to EDM with some rock and R&B/Hip-Hop. I think they have a really unique style.

The album will be released in May 20th, 2020 and contain 12 songs, along with an art book, an acrylic key-holder, 3 badges and 3 stickers.
The album will be followed by their first “One Man Live”, scheduled to be held at Shibuya on July 31th, 2020. I’m curious to see how their virtual characters will be used during their live. Will we have videos played, or even a hologram like it was done few years ago with Hatsune Miku?

Anyway, they are already getting a lot of success, their songs are really addicting so I think the future is bright for DUSTCELL. I hope they will get the success they deserve, and I will continue to follow them.
